Find out what a car's service history actually is
Give us a number plate or a VIN and we identify the vehicle, then go after the record of how it has been looked after — manufacturer service entries where they exist, and the garages that hold the rest where they do not.
What is available differs enormously by country: some markets have a manufacturer record to request and no way to look a car up from its plate, others are the exact reverse. Rather than average that into one vague promise, every country below states its own.
Choose your country
A car is registered in one country and a plate only means something there, so the answer starts with where the car lives.

Somewhere else? A VIN is an ISO 3779 identifier, not a national one, so the make, the country of build and the approximate year can be read from the characters themselves for a car built anywhere. That much costs nothing and works everywhere; the records are what is country-bound.
How it runs
- 01 Identify the car. From the plate where a registry sells that lookup, and from the VIN everywhere else.
- 02 Ask the manufacturer — in the markets where manufacturer records are available at all, and for the makes that actually return them.
- 03 Chase the garages that hold the rest, and tell you what came back — including the gaps, which are part of the record too.
